President Bill Wisdom, welcomed everyone, and gave us this reflection:
“Memories remind us that nothing lasts forever. Time is precious and should not be wasted. Enjoy life and remember, don’t count the days, make the days count.” We then all joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.ACHES & PAINS: Be kind and considerate and be thankful for all your blessings!!!
PROGRAM: Business Meeting and Trivia!
Celebrations:
- Tree Lot Report – we’ve sold about 62% of the trees and a very special thanks goes out to all those pulling extra shifts over the holiday weekend. Thanks also to those who helped with snow removal and tree shaking. You know who you were!!!
- Hoop Holler and Shoot is still moving right along, the boys semifinal and finals have been wrapped up, we still need some assistance for the girls on Friday.
- Early Expression Art Signup sheets are on the tables, see Jim Morrison if you’d be able to assist.
- Membership is down to 98, 2 less than last year, please give Bill Wisdom ideas you may have for a membership drive. (In the other direction.)
- Christmas Breakfast/Program will be held on the 20th, please sign the sheet with how many you will have in your party. Bring spouses, children, siblings, parents – all are welcome!
- Aggieville Chili Crawl was very successful, Johnny Kaws Yard Bar was the winner as was Cold Stone Creamery for their contribution!
- Youth of the Month and MHS Student of the Month presentations have been rolling right along, again successful programs.
- Blue Valley UMC Scout Troop and Cub Pack – we are the Charter Org.
- Trivia ended up in an overall tie, we are all brilliant! Thanks for the fun Bill!
CLUB STUFF/ANNOUNCEMENTS and UPCOMING EVENTS:
"Thundering Cats Jazz Band” and the Manhattan Ministerial Association (Pastors from various churches in town) will be performing original Stan Kenton Christmas arrangements with the pastors doing narrations of the Christmas Story. This concert is free (donations will be given to the Manhattan Free Clinic & Shepherds Crossing) at the 1st Lutheran church Dec. 3 at 3:00 pm."
GUESTS: Thad Hall introduced his co-worker at KS State Bank, Jeremy Allen. Welcome Jeremy, we were happy you joined us this morning.
