VOLUME 2025           DECEMBER 18         NUMBER 12

President Greg McCune
President Greg McCune welcomed everyone this morning as we gathered for our annual Christmas Breakfast.  Diana Chapel, pastor of the Ogden Friendship House United Methodist Church, gave the blessing.

ACHES & PAINS: Wishing you all a blessed Holiday Season.  Keep those less fortunate in your thoughts and prayers.

PROGRAM:  President Greg McCune introduced Chad Pape, who in turn introduced us to the Manhattan High School Pop’s Choir!  This morning, we were entertained by this group of young men and women from MHS, one who happened to be Chad Pape’s son.  As usual, they were fantastic, energetic, entertaining and full of spirit.  What a delightful way to start the day!

Santa made a visit and handed out some goodie bags to all the good little boys and girls!  It’s so sweet to see Santa interact with these little ones.

Many thanks to Sharon and Mike Fincham who passed out gifts to all the women and men present today as well.  Thank you to Diana Havenstein for making the beautiful and festive centerpieces on the tables.  I know everyone winning one was delighted.  Thank you also goes out to Diane and Julie Brummett for making the goodie bags for the Choir group and for the “good” little boys and girls visiting Santa!

Greg McCune also had Jen, our cook, come forward for a Christmas Bonus.  Thank you, Jen, for making our wonderful Christmas Breakfast.

Thank you to all who helped in making our annual Christmas Breakfast as wonderful as ever.  Here’s wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year too!

GUESTS: Welcome to all our Optimist families joining us this morning, what a wonderful gathering it was!
CLUB STUFF/ANNOUNCEMENTS and UPCOMING EVENTS

Thank you to all who have helped to make the 66th Manhattan Optimist Christmas Tree Lot a success.  With only about 49 trees remaining, shifts will be a bit shorter going forward.
There was a great article in the Manhattan Mercury about the two co-chairs who will be stepping back after more than 25 years of running this event!  It was a great article, if you have not read it, go online and do so!

Tree Sales Through 12/17/24
Thanks to Everyone Who Helped Make the 66th Tree Lot a Success!
Please remember to wear your name badges so everyone knows who we/you are!  This is especially helpful to our newest members.
